2024 China-ASEAN Capacity Building Workshops of CATC—Smart Manufacturing Session Kicks Off in LZPU
From News Center (Text by Fan Ranran from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Photo by Wei Wei from School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering) The 2024 China-ASEAN Capacity Building Workshops of CATC—Smart Manufacturing Session, sponsored by China Education Association for International Exchange, witnessed its grand opening ceremony organized by the International Exchange Department (School of International Education) and School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Liuzhou Polytechnic University (LZPU) at Guantang Campus on November 4, 2024.
The event drew 16 foreign teachers from 14 foreign universities and colleges, including Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung in Indonesia, Nakhonnayok Technical College in Thailand, and Hanoi College of Electromechanics in Vietnam, along with 12 teachers from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of LZPU. Yang Rui, Head of ASEAN Vocational Education Cooperation Affairs of China Education Association for International Exchange, and Qu Fan, Vice President of LZPU attended the opening ceremony.
Yang Rui expressed warm congratulations on organizing this event. She highlighted that the event played a vital role in enhancing the capabilities of teachers in China-ASEAN colleges and universities and enriching the exchanges and collaboration in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) between China and ASEAN member states. This event develops a large number of talented minds with modern manufacturing skills for ASEAN member states and stands as a significant platform for international exchange and cooperation, provides robust support for the transformation toward smart manufacturing in the region. She commended LZPU's efforts in supporting the development of China-ASEAN TVET cooperation.
Qu Fan warmly welcomed the foreign guests and shared the cultural customs of Liuzhou and the growth of LZPU. He thoroughly discussed the significance of this event in jointly fostering deep collaboration in China-ASEAN technical and vocational education and training.
Marlon Managi, a teacher from Balikpapan State Polytechnic in Indonesia, was expecting the training session with excitement and was ready to acquire new technologies and methods to contribute to regional economic development.
This training session focuses on advanced smart manufacturing technologies, including industrial robotics, digital twins, and industrial internet, alongside the development and practice of teaching abilities. It is vital to enhance technical and vocational education and training in China and ASEAN member states.
The training session is another significant step for LZPU in advancing its international operations and collaborations based on the success of activities held in 2022 and 2023. This session aims to support teachers from three ASEAN member states to gain expertise in advanced smart manufacturing technologies and the formulation of teaching standards. It strives to foster exchanges between ASEAN member states and China regarding smart manufacturing technologies and best practices. This collaborative effort will help participants better join the global industrial chain and strengthen regional industrial cooperation.
